Treatment of greenhouse wastewater for reuse or disposal using monovalent selective electrodialysis

چکیده

Minimal liquid discharge (MLD) in greenhouses minimizes the volume of discharged wastewater, thereby increasing effluent that may be reused. Sodium accumulation wastewater is often considered main bottleneck to achieving 100% reuse. Consequently, have begun adopting reverse osmosis (RO), most commonly used desalination technology for treatment. RO removes ions from indiscriminately, including multivalent nutrients crops (Ca2+, Mg2+, SO42?, PO43?). In contrast, monovalent selective electrodialysis (MSED) selectively sodium while retaining solution. For not achieved MLD, MSED has an alternative application reducing levels nitrate, a ion and agricultural pollutant, disposal. This paper investigates selectivity potential widely-used Neosepta membranes new Fujifilm treat reuse or discharge. Eight compositions are tested as feedwater laboratory system. Both demonstrate towards nitrate across compositions. cation-exchange remove two six ions, compared Neosepta's eight, every magnesium ion. anion-exchange seven six, sulfate

Refinery wastewater treatment and reuse

0 A tremendous amount of material has been written about wastewater treatment and reuse in recent years. This is partly due to the constantly changing technology in the field. Controversy surrounding the promulgation of regulations by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and subsequent revisions, have added to the confusion. The purpose of this article is to attempt to tie this mass of in...

Greenhouse Gas Emissions from Wastewater Treatment System

Besides its great potential in controlling water pollution from different sources, waste water treatment system generates significant amount of greenhouse gases. Hence, reducing the emission of greenhouse gases from the wastewater treatment plants is the major concern. The correct understanding and estimation of the greenhouse gases emitted from different points of the plan is essential to tack...
